"This is the first music video I've ever been around or been in," Lambert says of the new experience. "I'm finally here and I'm finally doing a music video. This is crazy."

From Times Square to Harlem to the Brooklyn Bridge, the video, produced by Clear Channel, shows the up-and-coming musician traveling around, playing several pianos. Lady Gaga has won a lot of accolades during the past year and met some pretty impressive dignitaries, but crashing the Forbes magazine annual World's Most Powerful Celebrities list puts her in some truly rarified company.

The singer, who launched her latest iteration of her never-ending Monster Ball Tour in Montreal on Monday night, debuts on the list this year at #4. She landed there thanks to high marks for her Web visibility (#1 on the list) and a $62 million haul between June 2009 and June 2010, $31 million of which came from touring (after a gross of $95 million), with much of the rest courtesy of deals with Virgin Mobile, Polaroid, Monster Cable and MAC.

Gaga joins a top 10 that is dominated by women, including the once-again #1, Oprah Winfrey, who retook her top rank thanks to $315 million in earnings after ceding it last year to Angelina Jolie (now #18). The list ranks celebs based on earnings over the previous 12 months, as well as visibility in print, TV, radio, online and social media.

Beyonc slipped up two spots to #4 this year, with $86 million in grosses thanks to a 93-date world tour, deals with Nintendo and L'Oreal and her House of Dereon fashion line. The still resurgent Britney Spears leaped from #13 to #6 this year, banking $64 million, most of it thanks to a world tour that grossed $130 million and deals with Elizabeth Arden and Candie's.

Madonna slipped seven spots down from last year's #3 ranking to #10, but at 52, she still had the fourth-highest-grossing tour of the year, which rolled up more than $138 million in gross receipts, as well as significant publishing royalties, including cash from an all-Madge episode of "Glee."

More than 30 years into their career, U2 went from zero to #7 on the list, mostly courtesy of a massive — currently mothballed — world tour that raked in more than $311 million in gross box office, as well as lucrative merchandise sales, copious radio play and a steady-selling back catalog that earned them more than $130 million.

With a $210 million payday from his #1 smash "Avatar," director James Cameron (#3) had a very good year, unlike disgraced golfer Tiger Woods, who hits #5 with $105 million in earnings amid high press rankings, mostly for his infidelity scandal. The top 10 is rounded out by Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock (#8, $56 million), who made headlines for having two hit movies, "The Proposal" and "The Blind Side," as well a divorce from ex-Jesse James. And at #9 is Johnny Depp, who banked $75 million, mostly due to his work in "Alice in Wonderland," which grossed $1 billion worldwide, making Depp the only actor to headline two billion-dollar films.

Taylor Swift made it onto the list for the first time, at #12, thanks to her status as the most-played artist on radio in 2009, multi-platinum album sales, and big endorsement deals with Sony and CoverGirl that netted her $45 million. She's just ahead of Miley Cyrus (#13), who took in a not-too-shabby $48 million. Beyonc's other half, Jay-Z, also made a giant leap this year, jumping from #32 to #15 with a hit album, his investment in the 40/40 club chain and the Broadway show "Fela!," the New Jersey Nets, and the Blueprint 3 tour, which grossed more than $1 million per show.

Also new on the list this year are the Black Eyed Peas, who debuted at #16 thanks to a $48 million year pumped up by sponsorship deals with Target, Honda, Bacardi and Apple. Singer Pink crashed the party at #27 in her debut year, with $44 million, much of it courtesy of her smash international tour.

Other musicians on the list include: Bruce Springsteen (#17), Coldplay (#35), the Jonas Brothers (#40), Diddy (#68), Lil Wayne (#74) and Akon (#80).

"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson also makes his first appearance on the list, coming in at #50 with $17 million in earnings, followed by co-star Kristen Stewart at #66 with $12 million in earnings. The woman who started it all, "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer, hits the #59 spot with $40 million in pay thanks to the $1 billion in box office the movies have earned so far and continued strong sales of the books from the series.

Former "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell earned a spot behind Madonna at #11 with a hefty $80 million payday, while fellow "Idol" cohort Ellen DeGeneres (#23) earned $55 million from her stint on the reality show and her syndicated daily talker. "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest weighs in at #44 with $51 million from his variety of TV hosting gigs, radio show and producer credits on reality shows.

Reaction to Ellen DeGeneres' announcement that she was departing "American Idol" was swift, with fans and bloggers eager to express their thoughts as soon as the news became public on Thursday (July 29). The talk show host's former "Idol" colleagues, Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest, weighed in as well.

Other celebrities have also joined the conversation, voicing reactions and well wishes. "Idol" season-six third-place finisher Melinda Doolittle was shocked by the news. "I feel like I was tweeting this exact thing around this time last year," she tweeted. "DUDE! Ellen?!?! DUDE!!!!!"

Doolittle later chimed in with her thoughts on rumored replacements Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. "Randy=my dawg, J.Lo=the best mentor on season 6, & Steven Tyler=my favorite band EVER! If these really are the AI judges, what do you think?" she tweeted to her followers, followed by her number one pick for the judges panel: "PS-I'm not saying these are my choices for judges. I just happen to love all of them. I'm kinda still holding out for Harry Connick, Jr. :-)"

Last season's champ, Lee DeWyze, also took to Twitter to offer a few words on how DeGeneres' departure may affect the show. "The show will be fine," he tweeted in reply to a fan.

Fellow talk show host Conan O'Brien weighed in as well. "Ellen has walked away from a television institution after one year, but I'm sure it's the right decision," O'Brien tweeted about the news, perhaps slyly referencing his own highly-publicized departure from "The Tonight Show" last year. "Now, back to my model rocketry," he wrote.

And finally, Paris Hilton showed Perez Hilton some Twitter love with a support of his dogged personal campaign to join the judges' table.

Britney Spears has already appeared in ads for the Candie's for Kohl's campaign, dancing around in cute little dresses and skimpy bikinis. And now the star is adding clothing designer to her rsum by co-designing her own line of clothing and accessories for Candie's. The line will hit Kohl's stores starting on July 1 and will be available for a limited time. It features skinny jeans, casual striped sweaters, little black skirts and motorcycle jackets.

In an interview with InStyle.com, Spears explains how she came up with the ideas for the line. "First, I met with the Candie's designers and told them what my favorite styles are. Then, we sketched the items together," she explained. "I loved it when I saw the samples for the first time."

So which piece in the collection does Spears like best? "I love the black trench coat. You can wear it over your outfit or as a dress. There's also an amazing studded skirt that's perfect for going out," she said, adding that studs are a big part of her line.

"I used a lot of studs and lace, because I wanted to make the clothes cool and edgy yet girly. I also love jeans, so I had to make sure there were some great pairs in the collection. And I love jewelry so there are a lot of fun pieces," she continued. "There are great necklaces and big earrings."

The line mimics the clothes that the singer loves to wear in her real life. "My personal style is a mix of comfortable and flirty," she said. "I love cute little dresses but I also love comfy sweaters and jeans."

What do you think of Spears' clothes? Tell us in the comments!

Unreleased Michael Jackson Music On The Way, Rodney Jerkins Says

Unreleased Michael Jackson Music On The Way, Rodney Jerkins Says

'It's definitely going to come, but it takes time,' says producer, who worked with King of Pop on Invincible.

Michael Jackson had a wealth of unreleased songs in the vaults at the time of his death last year, but very little has since seen the light of day. Producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who worked with the King of Pop on his 2001 album Invincible, revealed that he is about to work on a project with unreleased material from Jackson.

"I'm about to work on an unreleased project that we're talking about doing right now," Darkchild revealed in a chat with VladTV. "It's definitely going to come, but it takes time. You got to do a lot of the red tape but there's definitely going to be an unreleased Michael Jackson [album]. There's definitely going to be stuff to come and hopefully I'll be a part of that."

Darkchild later spoke about how working with the entertainer had always been a childhood dream of his.

"It was a blessing. It was definitely a goal of mine as a kid. When I first wanted to be producer, at 11 years old, on a little piece of paper [I] was like, 'One day I wanna work with Michael Jackson.' I just believe that God granted my wish," he said. "I had the chance to work with him. We became friends. Of course, we miss him dearly. He was truly the greatest."

Last year, former Sony Music boss Tommy Mottola revealed to Time magazine that unpublished Jackson music could date back decades. "Let's say 12 or 13 songs end up on the album; Michael could have possibly recorded 15, 20 or 30 songs," Mottola explained. "This would probably go for every album he recorded and probably predating [Sony] to his Motown days."

Jackson was reportedly working on a comeback album at the time of his death with contemporary R&B producers like Akon, Ne-Yo and Will.I.Am. He was also in talks to hit the studio with everybody from Kanye West to T-Pain to Chris Brown.

Based on a recent report from Reuters, more music from Jackson would only further increase music sales for the singer. The entertainer's music has raked in $430 million in sales since June 2009.

An album wasn't the only unfinished project Jackson had on his plate at the time of his death last June. The King of Pop had asked then-newcomer Lady Gaga to open his This Is It shows in London. "I guess I can speak about it now. I was actually asked to open for Michael on his tour. We were going to open for him at the O2," she revealed earlier this year.

Would you be excited to hear unreleased music from the King of Pop? Tell us your thoughts below!

'Green Lantern' At Comic-Con: Everything There Is To Know

'Green Lantern' At Comic-Con: Everything There Is To Know

MTV News has the scoop on the flick's new costumes and eye-popping footage, as well as Ryan Reynolds' 'Lantern' knowledge.
By Eric Ditzian

Ryan Reynolds

More than a week after Comic-Con kicked-off, the geek-fest has become a blur in our memories — a blur filled with sneak peeks at buzzworthy flicks and more celebs that you'll see in an entire season of Lakers basketball, but a blur nonetheless.

It's tough to keep track of it all, which is why we've decided to gather together all the content we've gathered about the Con's most drool-worthy flicks. We've already condensed our "Thor" reportage; now it's time for one an adaptation of one of DC Comics' most beloved superheroes. Read on for everything you need to know about "Green Lantern."

Ryan Reynolds Knows All

Comic-Con is filled with actors who wouldn't know Galactus if he created an inter-dimensional portal in the middle of Hall H. Not "Green Lantern" star Ryan Reynolds. The guy knows the Lantern's iconic oath by heart and has memorized the names of other heroes like Tomar-Re, Kilowog and Bzzd. Much respect!

They've Updated Green Lantern's Look

Before the Con, we got a peek at Reynolds' costume, and it proved to be a bit divisive. Was this too much of an updated look? Perhaps, but both Campbell and Reynolds defended their choice.

"There has to be a little healthy debate about it," . "I mean, that's important. If it were just slanted one way or the other, I don't think it would be that satisfying. And truthfully, we've only seen a tiny glimpse of the suit, you know, we haven't seen it in motion. And we haven't seen the full suit as well."

The Footage Looks Amazing

DC in Hall H on Saturday (July 24), and the fans ate it up. We got Reynolds as fighter pilot Hal Jordan flying through the air and as his power ring-assisted alter-ego Green Lantern. We also got Peter Sarsgaard as the deformed villain Hector Hammond and a first look at Tomar-Re.

"The tone is light," explained director Martin Campbell. "It has a lot of humor, but I think the relationships between all the characters are very real. We try to keep the action very real. ... It's my first superhero movie — unless you count James Bond."

Blake Lively Is At Home In Space

"Gossip Girl" star Lively is leaving the gilded streets of the Upper East Side for the space setting of "Green Lantern." She , a business exec named Carol Ferris who eventually turns into a villain. The role wasn't actually her first choice when it came to superhero movies, as she revealed to MTV News.

"I didn't know about 'Green Lantern,' " she said. "That's what's so exciting about it. I was just saying, you know, to get to introduce it to a young generation is a cool thing."

But Lively has quickly learned all there is to know about Ferris — and Star Sapphire, the villain who, according to comics lore, Ferris eventually becomes. "Oh my gosh, I would love to," . "To get to beat [Reynolds] up? Best day ever!"

Here are a few absolutely adorable photos of happy mom Sarah Michelle Gellar out and about on a brunch date with her babygirl Charlotte Grace in Brentwood, CA earlier this week … as you can see from these photos, SMG still really seems to be loving every single second of motherhood … and with a cutie like Charlotte, who could blame her?

It’s crazy to think that Charlotte Grace is about to turn 1 in just about a month and a half! It seems just just yesterday that we heard about the darling little girl’s birth and here she is, already nearing her 1st birthday. She is just the cutest little thing … and SMG looks happier than I’ve ever seen her. SMG may always be Buffy the Vampire Slayer to me but it looks like she’s finally found her true calling in life. She looks like a fantastically happy mother … I wonder if she and hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr. are thinking about expanding their family. Wouldn’t it be great if Charlotte had a baby brother to play with?

Beyonce's 'Why Don't You Love Me' Almost Didn't Happen, Bama Boyz Say

Beyonce's 'Why Don't You Love Me' Almost Didn't Happen, Bama Boyz Say

'It was the last one we expected her to pick,' song's producers reveal.
By Steven Roberts

If you've listened to Beyonc's "Why Don't You Love Me" and inexplicably felt like you were a spy in the middle of an international conspiracy, then don't feel like you're weird. When producers the Bama Boyz, created the song, that's exactly how they felt.

The Grammy-nominated production trio of Eddie Smith, Jesse J. Rankins and Jonathan Wells are signed to Mathew Knowles' (a.k.a. Beyonc's father) Music World Entertainment, and have worked with B for some time. In fact, the song's inspiration came from the time they spent in London at the end of her B-Day Tour.

"After the tour left, we stayed over in the UK, because we fell in love with it. It was a big thing for us, being out there, and we watch a lot of movies, so we all felt like Jason Bourne, to be quite honest with you," Rankins said. "We felt like James Bond or something. We were running around on like — this is kind of embarrassing — pretend missions in our head and we felt like we needed a theme song for it."

He said they started working on the song that would become "Why Don't You Love Me" in London, and completed it once they were back Stateside. They said that the song's structure was unusual, but luckily it ended up in the right person's hands.

"What happen was [B's sister] Solange called us and was like, 'Hey, I'm going to write a couple of records for my sister. Send me some tracks!' We had a lot of bangers that felt more like Beyonc, but we actually put that one last on the CD because we figured 'This is not Beyonc,' but we knew Solange would like it," Rankins said. "So we stuck that one there — but we battled with even putting it on there, because it was the last one we expected her to pick. So Solange sent it back with a song written to it, and it was the 'Why Don't You Love Me' lyrics. The song was hot!"

The Bama Boyz met in junior high and high school and linked back up in college at Alabama A&M University, where they threw parties as DJs. They eventually landed internships at Sony Music before hooking up with Mathew Knowles.

Despite their name, the group's sound doesn't necessarily scream Alabama. Their EP, Socially Awkward, is filled with music that can't readily be classified as electro, R&B or hip-hop.

"We actually like the fact that our name is the Bamaz — people say, 'Ah, they're going to sound like this.' But then we you hear [us], you're like 'What? Are they really from Alabama?' It's just like a gumbo of lots of different genres and styles."

Goodie Mob's Khujo Talks About His Jail Ordeal

Goodie Mob's Khujo Talks About His Jail Ordeal

'I was thinking about Tip, Wayne, Boosie,' the recently released Atlanta MC tells MTV News of serving erroneous sentence; GM partner Cee-Lo also weighs in.
By Shaheem Reid

Khujo Goodie can crack a joke now, but a little over a week ago, his predicament was no laughing matter. The eldest member of legendary rap group the Goodie Mob was in a Henry County, Georgia, jail serving a sentence of five years, where he would have to be incarcerated for around two before he could get out.

"Henry County means 'Hanging Every N---a Real Young," Khujo said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, just 24 hours after he was released from prison last Tuesday. "That's what I found out Henry County stands for."

Khujo, born Willie Knighton Jr., spent 42 days in jail — 23 hours a day in lockdown — for three counts of being a convicted felon in possession of firearms. He had to walk around on crutches because part of his right leg was amputated after a 2002 car accident. The Atlanta veteran says his arrest and jail time was a major misunderstanding, a result of the correctional system bungling his paperwork.

"I was on probation in 1990, got off in 1993," Khujo explained. "But Fulton County never put it through in the computer and never let them know I was all good. I had them firearms back when [Goodie Mob] dropped our first album, when we got our first check. You now how us country boys do, we got to have some rifles. So I'm thinking, I must be Gucci, all good. That was 15, 16 years, almost 20 years ago."

Last summer, Khujo went to sell some of his firearms at a pawn shop and the authorities were alerted.

"The Feds was on me," Khujo said. "They thought I was a gun-runner. I was like, 'Why you wanna f--- with me?' They was like, 'T.I., guns! Soulja Boy, guns!' And they said, 'Khujo Goodie [guns!].' Although Khujo's gun case wound up not being pursued federally, the Henry County prosecutors stayed active. Khujo was already going back and forth for an unrelated case, and with his probation situation still not cleared up, Khujo was faced with two choices: going to trial on his gun charges and facing 15 years or plea out and be sentenced to five years, with the likelihood of getting out in two.

"I didn't think it was gonna get cleared up, man," Khujo said with candor. "I was down at Fulton County trying to get that situation squared away. Once I got it cleared up, I thought I was all Gucci. I thought I was all good. But it turned out they had somebody else's name on the paperwork and they had the date wrong.

"I knew my court date was coming up," he added. "I was thinking about Tip, [Lil] Wayne, Boosie, all them boys that went in. I was like 'these n---as did a year, f--- it, man.' I thought I was gonna do two to the door."

There is no such thing as a good time to go to jail, but Khujo's legal woes came at a very inopportune time. Goodie Mob recently released a mixtape and the members were in the midst of recording their reunion album. Khujo also has a book he was planning to release. His group didn't know his situation was that dire until it was almost too late.

"In all honesty, Khujo is a man's man and very private and prideful about the ordeal," his Goodie Mob partner Cee-Lo said. "I remember going through a stint of him going back and forth to court, then him getting there and it being prolonged and postponed for quite a while. Our attitude had become complacent with it. Even on the day they decided to detain him, I'd be talking to him the night before, and [he's] telling me he was going to pick out his jewelry. He drove himself to court. He ended up being detained to everyone's dismay. So we weren't even aware of it until that day. He called and said, 'They got me.'

"That's our rock, our Iron Man, Khujo named Goodie Mob," Cee-Lo added, explaining why the group mates were devastated upon learning the news. "That's big bro to all of us. I'm the baby. We try our best to support each other."

Not only did Cee-Lo call in his own lawyer, as well as attorney Daniel Kane, who wound up taking the lead, but Outkast's Big Boi also called in legal counsel, while Big Gipp and T-Mo Goodie and other members of the Dungeon Family rallied for their brother.

"It was very disheartening for it to take place at all," Cee-Lo described. "But it was a blessing because I saw a miracle take place. It assured me that God had his hands and feet and heart all in this situation."

Last Tuesday, during a hearing for the case, after both sides presented their case, the judge told the courtroom he wanted to get "creative," according to Cee-Lo.

"The D.A. did make quite an impressive presentation of his point," Cee-Lo said. "He spoke very clearly and articulately. I was like, 'Oh, my God.' That's when it dawned on me, it didn't matter about the money; it didn't matter about anything. If they saw to it that Khujo should remain for the remainder of the sentence, it would have been law."

What the judge came up with was letting Khujo out of jail, on one condition: The Goodie Mob had to perform for and talk to the youth at sanctioned events.

"They asked were we interested in doing that, [and] I said, 'We'll do that today. Just get him outta here.' You feel me?" Cee-Lo recalled. "It was cool. We came back in, I knew it was success. I felt completely happy and satisfied. The sun was shining so bright. It was overwhelming. My body felt like I was trembling beneath the surface of my skin. I couldn't calm down."

"We're talking about going into the schools, getting drug-awareness programs going. Maybe doing a show for the kids," Khujo added. "If it's for the community, believe it or not, that's what we do."

Having his brother out was almost too overwhelming for Cee-Lo. "It'll be commemorated as a modern-day miracle," Cee-Lo said. "The sun was shining. All of a sudden it got hot. Everybody was there to support, his wife and family. The Mob was there, Big Boi came. It was a pleasure to see him. I know he's riding ride on a successful solo album. To walk in and just see family was just very ... it was calming."

Khujo said when he was released he went straight to his home. "I got four boys and my wife. I went back to the house, man. They're about to start school next month."

Khujo's case is still not over though. He has to return court on August 3 to be re-sentenced. Henry County District Attorney Tommy K. Ford did not return MTV News' phone calls requesting comment by press time.

"It was a learning experience," Khujo said. "I had a chance to get all the trash out of my mind, do some thinking."

Joe Zee, creative director for Elle magazine and (arguably THE) star of the MTV reality TV series The City, is featured in a fun new video on Elle.com where cameras follow him around NYC, NY while he wears the fresh-from-the-runway Faux Fur Chanel suit:

I understand that temps were well into the 90s on the day Joe wore this very furry suit in Manhattan … which makes the vid all the more fun to watch. For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would ever want to wear a Faux Fur suit like this … even if it was designed by Chanel … but, at least Joe was a trooper to give it a whirl. Check out the video in full, after the jump …

LOL! Yeah, I don’t think this suit looks good on anyone … but Mr. Joe Zee knows how to rock it right. They say that Fashion is Fearless … but, apparently, it can also be extremely fugly, too … just ask Mischa Barton.

On Thursday (January 7), the U.K.'s Royal Mail unveiled a series of 10 new stamps, honoring the most iconic album covers of the past 40 years.

The albums featured in the new series are the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed, Led Zeppelin's IV, David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, The Clash's London Calling, New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies, Primal Scream's Screamadelica, Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, Blur's Parklife and — the most recent album on to make the cut — Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head.

Meant to honor "the most potent graphic images of modern times, many of which have provided a visual soundtrack to people's lives," the series is the end result of a lengthy research process by the Royal Mail, who looked through thousands of album covers by British artists before deciding on the final list. And, during a Wednesday night BBC Radio broadcast, it was revealed that the queen herself actually approved each design.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page — who helped design the cover for IV — was on hand to celebrate the release of the stamps and recalled the mysterious nature of the album's iconic imagery.

"Almost 40 years after the album came out, nobody knows the old man who featured on the cover, nor the artist who painted him," he said. "That sort of sums up what we wanted to achieve with the album cover, which has remained both anonymous and enigmatic at the same time."

Of course, any great honor is befitting of an equally great contest, so, on the same day the stamps were made available to the general public, Coldplay decided to give one of their Rush of Blood stamps away. In a message on their official site, the band held a contest to send one lucky fan "a letter using a Coldplay stamp, postmarked with today's issue date."

"We visited our local post office earlier today and bought some of the Coldplay stamps," the message read. "Very nice they are too."

History comes alive in Cebu City's 18th century Jesuit House

History comes alive in Cebu City's 18th century Jesuit House

Tucked behind high contemporary concrete walls right in the heart of the Parian district in Cebu City, the Jesuit House is an 18th century house that has been remarkably preserved throughout the years. It is very much hidden from public view so that only a very few, mostly history buffs, knew of its existence and origin. It has survived different transformations from being the residence of a religious community to a hardware store and warehouse. Not until the present owners converted it into a museum last year has the house slowly entered into the consciousness of the locals and into the pages of local tourist guide books and websites.

Perez Hilton Says Jessica Simpson, Not Jennifer Lopez, Should Get 'American Idol' Judge Gig

Perez Hilton Says Jessica Simpson, Not Jennifer Lopez, Should Get 'American Idol' Judge Gig

Gossip blogger calls Simpson 'insightful and funny.'

With Ellen DeGeneres no longer on "American Idol" and the fate of Kara DioGuardi still up in the air, at this point no one knows what the show's judges' table will look like next season. And one gossip blogger thinks the show needs to scuttle confusion quickly.

"So, the question is not who's gonna replace Simon Cowell, the question now is who's gonna replace Ellen DeGeneres?" Perez Hilton said to MTV News. "'American idol' [is] in quite a predicament."

Rumors have been swirling that Jennifer Lopez might join the judges' table for the show's 10th season, but Perez is making the case for another candidate.

"At least Jessica Simpson could have been insightful and funny," he explained. "I love J.Lo, but she's a diva. There's nothing warm about her, where I think Jessica could bring warmth and insight and humor."

So, why Simpson? "She's still been very visible and Jennifer has tried to be visible but she's kind of been away for a while," he argued. "[Simpson] has been around for a long time and has that experience, plus America loves to watch her on television. Does America love watching Jennifer Lopez on TV? I don't know. I don't think so."

Or course, if Idol judges came calling to Perez himself, he wouldn't turn down the gig. "Obviously I think I'd be great in that role," he said. "Plus, if they hire Jessica Simpson too, there'd definitely be lots of fireworks between us! She'd be my Paula!"

Would you prefer J.Lo or J-Simp behind the "Idol" judges' table? Tell us in the comments!
