Lady Gaga And Laurieann Gibson's Path To 'Yoü And I'

Duo's latest video makes its television debut Thursday at 7:49 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and Logo.

Since Lady Gaga and Laurieann Gibson met in 2008 — when Gaga was just breaking into the mainstream and proving herself as a cultural tour de force — the duo have created one of the most powerful and unique visions in pop music. Their latest endeavor is the Gibson-directed music video for "Yoü and I," which makes its television debut Thursday at 7:49 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and Logo during "MTV First: Lady Gaga."

The two ladies share a similar background, both drawing inspiration from their hometown of New York City, so it's no surprise that their creative outlooks intersect. "This was the place that we started. This was the place that birthed her. This was the place that birthed my dance," Gibson told MTV News earlier this year about NYC serving as the backdrop for Gaga's "Born This Way" video. "New York just has something so real about birthing something specific."

Lady Gaga's musical director recalls how "Yoü and I" came to be.

As the Haus of Gaga's creative director and choreographer, Gibson helps Gaga spread her message of love, including in the "Born This Way" clip, which premiered in March.

"I've created, directed and choreographed for Lady Gaga since the beginning, so 'Born This Way,' this was musically such an amazing evolution and such a brilliant record," Gibson said. "So when she played it for me, it took me a while to find out the visual interpretation that I could give back to her.

"I woke up one night and I got it and I said, 'I got it: We have to birth a new race,' " she recalled. "As genius as she is, she then begins to create all of these elements that make her Lady Gaga. When I saw the final edit I, of course, was loving some stuff, and then I was like, 'But oh, here we go.' It was brilliant. [Director] Nick [Knight] is amazing."

Go behind the scenes of a top-secret Lady Gaga shoot.

This year alone, Gibson has directed Gaga's Google Chrome commercial, which pays homage to the singer's Big Apple roots, and the HBO special "Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden." Gibson also co-directed Gaga's "Judas" video, which is up for Best Choreography and Best Art Direction at the Video Music Awards.

"I was able to sit in the director's seat and fulfill our vision and see it all the way through. So at the end of the day, you saw how amazing she looks — beautiful — she's dancing again," Gibson said of working with Gaga on the video. "And it's just great because I was able to produce the next level: who she is, how many levels she can go and the idea that this artist is a real artist and capable."

Gibson once again assisted Gaga in the directing department, helming her dark and romantic video for "Yoü and I." Gibson described the clip as nothing less than magical, tweeting before the video hit the Web on Tuesday: "You and I @Ladygaga...... working hard, making magic."

Don't miss the television premiere of the "Yoü and I" video during "MTV First: Lady Gaga," Thursday night at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV and Logo, followed by a live Q&A with Gaga and her fans on MTV.com. Tweet your questions for the Mother Monster with the hashtag #MTVGaga.

Salma Hayek Wigs Out on the "Savages" Set

Getting to work on her new film ?Savages,? Salma Hayek was spotted on set in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday (August 18).

The ?Bandidas? babe sported a black wig with blunt bangs as she swapped in and out of various costumes while roaming to and from the trailer area.

Aside from her work duties, as Salma gracefully ages she continues to get more and more comfortable with her body and she hopes every woman feels the same way.

Talking to Allure for their September issue, Hayek dished, "As a woman, you should be more at ease with your sexuality when you are in your 40s. You are more self-assured about that part. And that's the way it should be."

The 44-year-old added, "If you are a girl who cannot walk in heels, it doesn't matter how beautiful you are. If you look like a chicken that's been spiked in the feet, it's not going to be sexy."

Britney Spears Drops Official 'Till The World Ends' Remix

New track with Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha follows leaked version, plus Brit tweets single's cover art.
By Jocelyn Vena

The "Till the World Ends" Femme Fatale remix
Photo: Jive

Just days after it was leaked on Friday, Britney Spears and her femme fatales, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha, dropped their official remix of "Till the World Ends."

The new version of the song was produced by Dr. Luke and Dream Machine. Brit half-whispers " 'Till the World Ends' remix" before the beat kicks in and Nicki hits her verse hard. She spits fierce lines like, "Sniff, sniff, cries/ I done slayed your whole entire f---ing life."

Then Britney's sex-kitten vocals kick in for the song's first verse. "That's Britney, bitch! I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha," the Queens MC declares before K sings the chorus. The beat is harder, the loops are sassier and the song is grimier than the original version, which was the second single from Femme Fatale. The newly added dubstep portion takes the one from "Hold It Against Me" to a new level by adding in bass-heavy synths.

Ke$ha, of course, wrote the track for Britney, and the ladies certainly don't seem to mind sharing the spotlight with each other. The official track isn't much different than the version that leaked over the weekend, though Spears did have something brand-new to share with her fans just as the song dropped on iTunes and streamed on her website.

Spears tweeted the artwork for the single, which features the original press photo of Spears along with separate photos of Nicki on the left and Ke$ha on the right. Spears wrote, "@NickiMinaj @Keshasuxx Too much fierceness for one cover! Thanks for lending your voices girls... #TTWEREMIX — Brit"

Spears and Minaj have been hanging out a lot in the lead-up to their summer tour. They hung out at the Factory nightclub on Friday night after Minaj's show in Los Angeles. Spears later wrote, "Early rehearsal after a late night with my girl @NickiMinaj. Can't WAIT to get out on the road with you."

What do you think of the "Till the World Ends" remix? Tell us in the comments!

Last night, La La and Tika made their way in sexy dresses to Nobu for some chow:

Tika was pretty in pink and La tapped into her wild side with her cheetah print mini dress.

'Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas' Trailer: Five Key Scenes

Third installment of the stoner-comedy franchise has something to do with the holidays ... and we sniff out a few other details.
By Eric Ditzian

Photo: New Line Cinema

In a way, "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" is the most high-concept installment in the stoner-comedy franchise. The titles of both "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" and "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" told you everything you needed to know about the films. But the latest addition? Well, it's in 3-D and has something to do with the holiday season, yet it can all get a little confusing for the series' munchies-having, navel-gazing fanbase.

The first "3D Christmas" trailer, which hit Yahoo! on Wednesday evening, should clear up most of that duuuuude-what's-it-all-about confusion. And MTV News' picks for the five key scenes should wipe away any remaining brain fog.

The Santa Formula
The witty tweaking of clichés has been at the heart of what this franchise is all about. After years of derivative stoner comedies, many with premises thinner than a tab of LSD, "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" took the formula to its storytelling extreme — what if we make a movie about two dudes trying to get some hamburgers? — and wound up delivering not only a funny movie, but one that breathed new, smart and ridiculous life into what had become a hackneyed subgenre. "3D Christmas," which hits theaters in November, turns its postmodern attention to the holiday movies, as we see in this scene of Harold accidently shooting Santa in the face. How many Christmas movies will the new movie riff on? We smell the heady scent of a future college-dorm-room party game.

The Comedy Equation
If the big picture of the franchise has been devoted to undercutting cinematic clichés, the undercurrent running through so many individual scenes has been the filmmakers' quest to identify and explode stereotypes. Race, religion, sexuality — it's all been roped into laugh lines, sometimes with less success than others (see "Escape from Guantanamo Bay"). The third film in the series keeps the fearless tradition going, as in one scene where Kumar is rejected by a lovely lady with the line, "Sorry, I don't date black guys."

Claymazing!
But hey, perhaps we're being a bit too high-minded. The franchise can also be enjoyed (when it's enjoyable) as a straightforward, drug-addled buddy comedy. In "3D Christmas," the two friends are still getting' high and gettin' into trouble, as when they mistakenly get a toddler stoned or, in this scene, when they're dosed with a hallucinogen. Cue one of the more creative visual representations of the drug experience in recent memory: Harold and Kumar become claymation figurines. It's a fun, unexpected moment, which makes us think filmmakers should have held the scene back so it'd be fresh (and fun and unexpected) in theaters.

"Avatarted"
The new movie clearly wants to have its three-dimensional cake and eat it too, as Harold asks at one point in the trailer, "Hasn't the whole 3-D thing jumped the shark by now?" The answer, delivered by a TV salesman, is that the movie makes "Avatar" look "Avatarted." He's probably right. "Avatar" director James Cameron's approach to 3-D is to use the technology to create depth, as if in looking at the screen you're looking through a window. "3D Christmas" takes the opposite approach, hurling things (eggs, the Pope's tooth) out at the audience in a manner that has become less favored among filmmakers. Though not entirely. Hey, that in-your-face approach worked for "Jackass 3D."

NPH
There was a time when Neil Patrick Harris probably thought he'd forever be remembered as a super-smart teen doctor named Doogie. But his turn in "Go to White Castle" changed all that, launching the actor's professional second act. Now, NPH might host award shows and star in a hit network comedy, but he continues to pay respect to the raunchy franchise that resurrected his career. Ignore the fact, as NPH himself does, that he was shot and seemingly killed in "Escape from Guantanamo Bay." What's important is that he's back and ridiculous as ever. The same might well be said of "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas."

Check out everything we've got on "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas."

Mary J. Blige Dishes On Her 'Crazy' Led Zeppelin Covers

'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Larry Carroll

You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.

In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.

But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.

"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."

Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.

"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

Chuckie Will Debut Michael Jackson Remix In Miami

Official 'Hollywood Tonight' remix coming to Miami Music Week.
By Akshay Bhansali

Leaving the South by Southwest festival, Lavo New York and Las Vegas' Marquee in his wake, house DJ Chuckie has his sights set on the week ahead. With Miami Music Week now upon us, Chuckie plans to seize the opportunity to debut new material. Fans will be tickled to know the Dutch producer has tracks in the can with Kelly Rowland and T-Pain, but when MTV News caught up with him Friday in New York, Chuckie shared the achievement of which he's most proud.

"I did a Michael Jackson remix, which was really scary — to touch Michael Jackson vocals," Chuckie said. "I did this remix for this track 'Hollywood Tonight.' I couldn't say it for a minute: The label called me, and they said, 'You can't say nothing about this. It's kind of a secret project.' It's gonna come out anytime now."

"Hollywood Tonight" was originally produced by Teddy Riley for Jackson's posthumous Michael album, and Chuckie's mix of the song will be the sole official remix of the track.

"I will play it Miami," Chuckie revealed. "I told them this is the best week to launch the remix. So it feels really good. I'm the only one remixing that Michael Jackson track, and they are considering it a single. For me, especially, it's an honor to remix the King of Pop because he died on my birthday."

So, will the mix be a thundering Chuckie Dutch house banger or will it have a melodic progressive house feel, like his Marquee remix of Diddy-Dirty Money's "I Hate That You Love Me"? Well, according to the "Let the Bass Kick" producer, fans will be getting a healthy dose of both.

"I had to bring in the raucous," Chuckie confessed. "Yeah, I did the Chuckie flavor, but then again, I wanted to make it really musical, so I went progressive (house) on it."

Chuckie will be performing twice at Miami Music Week: at the Cr2 Records Party at Wall Lounge on Wednesday, and then headlining "No Sugar Added" at Nikki Beach on Friday.

Are you excited to hear Chuckie's remix of Michael Jackson's "Hollywood Tonight"? Let us know in the comments below!

Lady Gaga Dishes On New Music Video

Clip, likely for 'You And I,' is about how 'when you're away from someone you love, it's torture,' Gaga says.
By Jocelyn Vena

Lady Gaga is giving her little monsters some juicy details about her forthcoming music video, which she just shot in Nebraska. While she never confirms or denies that the video is for her track "You And I," reading between the lines gives it all away.

"Well, I shot my new music video here," she dished to Omaha radio station 94.1, hearing the track on the radio for the first time. "I've got to tell you, I don't think there's anything hotter than being in a cornfield in Nebraska.

"It was so sweet, and I looked out and it's so beautiful, that tall corn. ... Then all of a sudden you start to see these monsters pop up. I love this place so much, and it really comes from a genuine place. The person who I wrote this song about has been my buddy and my best friend since I was 19 years old, and he's from here," she added of her pal Luc Carl. "And I love this state so much."

While not revealing whether a previously promised mermaid will make a cameo, she did share quite a lot about the plot for the video.

"Well, it was actually kind of perfect the way it worked out 'cause the premise of the video is that I've walked all the way from New York City to Nebraska to get him back," she said. "I'm walking with no luggage and no nothing and it's just me and my ankles are bleeding a little bit and there's grass stuck in my shoes and I've got this outfit on and it's real sort of New York clothing and I'm sprinting.

"And the [video is about the] idea that when you're away from someone you love, it's torture," she continued. "I knew I wanted the video to be about me sprinting back and walking hundreds of thousands of miles to get him back."

'Amazing Spider-Man' Villain A 'Mentor And Adversary'

Rhys Ifans' Curt Connors, a.k.a. the Lizard, has lost an arm just as Peter Parker has lost his parents, director Marc Webb tells MTV News.
By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

It's a familiar trend in superhero movies for the protagonist to feel a kinship with the villain. Just look at Batman and the Joker, or Professor Xavier and Magneto. But "The Amazing Spider-Man" director Marc Webb told MTV News that the concept will be taken to the next degree in his film.

Curt Connors, a.k.a. the Lizard, will be played by Rhys Ifans in the latest "Spider-Man" incarnation. Connors has lost his arm and, as Webb explained, "That desire to get that arm back corrupts him in some way." But the connection between him and leading man Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield, is that Parker is also looking for something that he's lost: his parents.

"Curt Connors is both a mentor and an adversary, and that's what I think is fascinating about that villain character," Webb told MTV News at San Diego Comic-Con. "That's what makes this story different."

Ifans echoed similar sentiments when MTV News caught up with him in San Diego, saying Connors doesn't see himself as a villain and "wants to save the world," so that element adds an additional layer to his character. But at the film's heart, Connors' relationship with Parker will keep audiences interested.

"In the same way as Peter is looking for his parents, Curt is looking to complete the circle in his life," Ifans explained. "They both dance to the tune of the same moral question."

Webb said "The Amazing Spider-Man" is definitely going to deal with Parker's missing parents, which is something the previous three "Spider-Man" movies didn't touch upon. There have been many different versions of that story line in the comics, including one where Parker's parents are actually CIA agents, but Webb said they would be telling their own story in "The Amazing Spider-Man."

"We're creating a world of our own devising, but we take cues from the comics," he explained. "In terms of the CIA agent thing, we aren't really going down that road in particular, not in this movie anyways, but there's a lot of stuff to explore and define and that was part of the fun of creating this universe in a new and different way."

Check out everything we've got on "The Amazing Spider-Man."

Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj Joined By Kanye West In New York

Yeezy spices up the Femme Fatale Tour stop, appearing with Nicki for 'Monster' on Tuesday night.
By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker

Nicki Minaj and Kanye West perform at Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday
Photo: Jason Winslow/ Splash News

UNIONDALE, New York — The Nassau Coliseum was already packed by the time opening act Nicki Minaj took the stage Tuesday night. The screams that filled the stadium as "Roman's Revenge" boomed on the speakers made it seem like Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Tour is actually a co-headlining event.

And then came a bigger surprise. Only a few songs in, an unusual tension filled the arena as Nicki kept looking back over her shoulder during a transition between songs. Then the first few beats of "Monster" came on and out ran Kanye West Kanye West, who was taking time out of his busy promo schedule leading up to the release of his and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne. After the song, Kanye beamed his toothiest white smile, and the crowd could not have been any more psyched. The shrieking continued as Nicki finished off her set with hits including "Check It Out" and "Super Bass."

Roughly 30 minutes later, the Britney-themed countdown clock in the arena read 00:00 and the cheering threatened to blow the already-shaky roof straight off the rafters. After a short intro video, showing one of the world's biggest pop stars being hunted and arrested by a SWAT team, Britney burst onto the stage and went straight into "Hold It Against Me," as teens, young professionals, gay men and a healthy dose of middle-aged fans alike collectively pushed forward.

Spears performed songs off her latest album, Femme Fatale, intermixed with classics all the way back to "... Baby One More Time," though many were shortened versions of the originals. Some of the highlights included "Slave 4 U," in which she revisited some of the same choreography from her classic music video and 2001 VMA performance; a Rihanna-less "S&M" that involved her riding shirtless male dancers down a catwalk; and "Lace and Leather," in which she called her Long Island-born boyfriend, Jason Trawick, out of the audience, handcuffed him to a stripper pole and gave him a PG-rated lap dance.

While critics have noted that Britney doesn't dance as much as she did in her early days, there was a great deal of choreography in the live show, and she was always moving in some capacity — though much of it involved wrist snapping, finger pointing, prop-riding, hair-whipping and strutting. She smiled anytime she wasn't giving her infamous smoldering glare, and tore up a handful of song breakdowns (for songs like "Toxic" and "Big Fat Bass") with old-school Britney power thrusts.

The arena crowd stayed on their feet the entire time, and they received one last sort-of surprise (since it hasn't happened at every single show on the tour): Nicki Minaj joined Britney onstage for the encore performance of "Till the World Ends."

Katy Perry, Adele And More 2011 VMA Nominees ... Possibly

Bigger Than the Sound tries to predict the nominees for this year's Video Music Awards.
By James Montgomery

I've been told that the nominations for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards -- which air live Sunday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV -- are going to be announced on MTV and MTV.com on Wednesday night (July 20) at 11 p.m ET, and that means you should probably get ready for a whole lot of Katy Perry. And Adele. And Britney Spears. And Lady Gaga. Oh, and Rihanna too.

That's because, to paraphrase Beyoncé (oh yeah, she'll probably get nominated too), it's been girls who've run the world in 2011, and the VMAs will probably be no exception. Perry — who has basically been unstoppable since last summer — figures to be the most nominated artist, with this year's breakout star, Adele, close behind. Britney, Gaga and all the rest figure to be in the hunt too. In fact, one has to wonder if the folks behind the show will just go ahead and eliminate the Best Male Video category altogether. More room for the ladies that way.

Of course, we won't know for sure until those nominations are officially revealed, but while we wait, I figured it was time to dust off the old Prognostication Cap and try to predict the 2011 VMA nominees in advance. I've done this for seemingly every awards show in the past, and sometimes I even manage to avoid embarrassing myself completely (not always, though).

So without any advance knowledge — and using as many sweeping generalizations as humanly possible — here are my picks for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Accuracy not entirely guaranteed.

Best Male Video
In a year dominated by females, I suppose someone has to win Best Male Video. I think it's a given that Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and Eminem all land nods here, and I suspect Justin Bieber will sneak in too, if only because it builds off his Best New Artist win last year. The fifth spot is up for grabs, though in a pinch, I'll go with Pitbull, if only because of the recent success of "Give Me Everything." Lupe Fiasco or Trey Songz are also viable choices. My picks:

» Bruno Mars, "Grenade"
» Chris Brown, "She Ain't You"
» Eminem feat. Rihanna, "Love The Way You Lie"
» Justin Bieber, "U Smile"
» Pitbull, "Give Me Everything"

Best Female Video
Sure, Video of the Year is the night's biggest award, but given the success of every artist with a pair of X chromosomes, the Best Female Video might be the toughest — and not just to win. Predicting who even gets nominated is a challenge, considering there are only five spots available. Adele and Katy Perry seem mortal locks, and Rihanna is close. Britney will probably earn a nom too, which means that either Beyoncé, Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj will be left on the outside looking in. Told you this was going to be tough. My picks:

» Adele, "Rolling in the Deep"
» Britney Spears, "Hold It Against Me"
» Beyoncé, "Run the World (Girls)"
» Katy Perry, "E.T."
» Rihanna, "S&M"

Best Rock Video
My official title at MTV News is "rock editor," but even I had a hard time coming up with five nominees here. Since 30 Seconds to Mars won last year, I suspect they'll be back to defend their crown. Folks were excited about the Foo Fighters' return, so pencil them in too. Mumford & Sons may very well be the year's most unexpected success, which should earn them a nod. The other two slots? I'm not gonna lie, I just picked names out of a hat.

» 30 Seconds to Mars, "Hurricane"
» Foo Fighters, "Rope"
» Foster the People, "Pumped Up Kicks"
» Linkin Park, "Waiting for the End"
» Mumford & Sons, "Little Lion Man"

Best Hip-Hop Video
A wide-open category, and one that raises several questions: Can Eminem win for the second year in a row? Will Nicki Minaj manage to bum-rush the boys' club? Is Kanye West's epic "Runaway" mini-movie even eligible? I'm not going to pretend to know all the answers, but it certainly makes for an interesting field. In the end, I left Em off — since "Love the Way You Lie" was released in such a nebulous time (August 2010, a month before last year's VMAs and a full 12 months before this year's) — and went with the Beastie Boys, since I have a creeping suspicion they'll earn a nod or two, and this seems as logical a place as any. Nicki and Kanye are in (though I went with the latter's "Monster" video), and so is Lil Wayne. For the last spot, I went with Lupe Fiasco, though it wouldn't surprise me to see Tyler, the Creator here instead.

» Beastie Boys, "Make Some Noise"
» Kanye West (featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver and Nicki Minaj), "Monster"
» Lil Wayne (featuring Cory Gunz), "6 Foot 7 Foot"
» Lupe Fiasco, "The Show Goes On"
» Nicki Minaj, "Super Bass"

Best Pop Video
Another big-time category, another bunch of deserving artists destined to be left out. I like Britney's, Katy's and Gaga's chances, and I'll toss Rihanna into the mix too. For the fifth spot, I went with Bruno Mars, since, otherwise, this category would basically just be Best Female Video, Part II. Of course, in doing that, I excluded Adele, Beyoncé, Ke$ha and about a dozen other worthy acts too. Prognostication is hard work, people.

» Britney Spears, "Hold It Against Me"
» Bruno Mars, "Grenade"
» Katy Perry, "E.T."
» Lady Gaga, "Born This Way"
» Rihanna, "S&M"

Best New Artist
Who will follow in the footsteps of Biebus Christ (and Lady Gaga) and take home the Moonman for Best New Artist? Good question! This is always one of the hardest categories to predict, and this year is no different: The only sure things seem to be Mumford & Sons and Wiz Khalifa, and though Robyn isn't exactly new, she's new enough here (and made some terrific strides over the past 12 months), so I think she's a lock. In a pinch, I'll pick Foster the People (big radio hit) and Tyler, the Creator (big buzz), though Kreayshawn could sneak in too.

» Foster the People
» Mumford & Sons
» Robyn
» Tyler, the Creator
» Wiz Khalifa

Video of the Year
Last year's Video of the Year race featured a trio of underdogs — 30 Seconds to Mars, B.o.B, Florence and the Machine — thrown into the mix. Will 2011 follow suit? Probably not. Adele seems to be a no-brainer, even if most folks have never seen the video for "Rolling in the Deep." Katy, too, but it remains to be seen which of her videos gets the nod. (I went with "Firework." It's mad inspirational.) Em will be back — though one has to wonder if "Love the Way You Lie" peaked too early to be considered a genuine front-runner — and Gaga should return also. I went dark-horse with my fifth pick, taking the Foo Fighters' "Rope" over bigger clips from Beyoncé and Rihanna, mostly because I've got a sweet spot for VHS.

» Adele, "Rolling in the Deep"
» Eminem (featuring Rihanna), "Love the Way You Lie"
» Foo Fighters, "Rope"
» Katy Perry, "Firework"
» Lady Gaga, "Born This Way"

HOLLYWOOD — The stars stepped out in fine form on Monday night to support Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman's R-rated body-swap comedy, "The Change-Up." Reynolds and Bateman were joined on the red carpet by their lovely lady co-stars Olivia Wilde and Leslie Mann, along with surprise guest, Reynolds' pal Sandra Bullock.

In the spirit of the life-swapping element in the film, MTV News asked the attendees what other actor they'd like to swap careers, if not bodies, with, if given the opportunity.

"I would like to be Robert Redford," Wilde said. "I think being Robert Redford would be really nice. And also directing as well as acting, and doing Westerns as well as all sorts of movies, then living a really good life, starting a film festival. I would take Robert Redford. I wouldn't miss a day of my Robert Redford life."

Mann settled on Oscar winner and Hollywood legend Shirley Maclaine.

"That's a good one, right?" she said, adding that Maclaine's film classics "The Apartment" and "Terms of Endearment" are two of her favorite movies of all time.

"I think Jeremy Renner has got a nice thing going right now," Bateman said of "The Avengers" and "Hurt Locker" actor.

"Joaquin Phoenix is working with Paul Thomas Anderson then Spike Jonze, not too shabby," he added, seemingly torn between the two. "Ryan, top that."

"Wow. You just nailed it, man," Reynolds admitted. "I'd take Quentin Tarantino, that guy makes some fantastic films."

"That's a good one," Bateman said. "Can I change mine?"

Check out everything we've got on "The Change-Up."
