Britney Spears Drops Official 'Till The World Ends' Remix
New track with Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha follows leaked version, plus Brit tweets single's cover art.

The "Till the World Ends" Femme Fatale remix
Photo: Jive
Just days after it was leaked on Friday, Britney Spears and her femme fatales, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha, dropped their official remix of "Till the World Ends."
The new version of the song was produced by Dr. Luke and Dream Machine. Brit half-whispers " 'Till the World Ends' remix" before the beat kicks in and Nicki hits her verse hard. She spits fierce lines like, "Sniff, sniff, cries/ I done slayed your whole entire f---ing life."
Then Britney's sex-kitten vocals kick in for the song's first verse. "That's Britney, bitch! I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha," the Queens MC declares before K sings the chorus. The beat is harder, the loops are sassier and the song is grimier than the original version, which was the second single from Femme Fatale. The newly added dubstep portion takes the one from "Hold It Against Me" to a new level by adding in bass-heavy synths.
Ke$ha, of course, wrote the track for Britney, and the ladies certainly don't seem to mind sharing the spotlight with each other. The official track isn't much different than the version that leaked over the weekend, though Spears did have something brand-new to share with her fans just as the song dropped on iTunes and streamed on her website.
Spears tweeted the artwork for the single, which features the original press photo of Spears along with separate photos of Nicki on the left and Ke$ha on the right. Spears wrote, "@NickiMinaj @Keshasuxx Too much fierceness for one cover! Thanks for lending your voices girls... #TTWEREMIX — Brit"
Spears and Minaj have been hanging out a lot in the lead-up to their summer tour. They hung out at the Factory nightclub on Friday night after Minaj's show in Los Angeles. Spears later wrote, "Early rehearsal after a late night with my girl @NickiMinaj. Can't WAIT to get out on the road with you."

Freddy Krueger Kicks Off MTV's Killer Halloween
Where does the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' baddie rank among other horror icons? We're polling you all week to find out!

Get ready to scream! We're kicking off MTV's Killer Halloween — an in-depth competition to determine the best and scariest movie murderer — with "A Nightmare on Elm Street" baddie Freddy Krueger. Each day, we will offer up two of the fiercest competitors cinema has to offer, and we'll ask you to rank them on their deadliest attributes.
Head over to our Movies Blog poll to determine which horror icon has style to die for!
We've already seen "Freddy vs. Jason," so now it's up to you to decide who wins Freddy vs. Ghostface or Jason vs. Leatherface, etc. Face your fears and check back every day this week for two new killers and another chance to decide just who is the scariest of them all!
Freddy Krueger
Occupation: Plant worker, school janitor (remake)
Weapons: Razor fingers, dreams
Arch-Enemies: Nancy Thompson, Jason Voorhees, Red Bull
Profile: "One, two, Freddy's coming for you." With those words from a set of angelic-looking dream children, your fate is set. Freddy Krueger, the dream killer from Wes Craven's "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series, will come at you with the unlimited power of your nightmares and not only take you out in your sleep but in the real world as well with his famous set of razor fingers.
Freddy got his start in 1984 with the original "Elm Street" movie. Famously played by horror legend Robert Englund, the killer known for his burn marks was a plant worker in Springwood who murdered children in the town. (He became a school janitor in the 2010 remake.) After a legal technicality allowed Freddy to walk away from the charges without a scratch, the parents of Springwood decided to take the law into their own hands. They killed Freddy, but that didn't stop him. Freddy returned to stalk the children of Springwood in their dreams. One by one, Freddy took his victims (including a young Johnny Depp in one particularly bloody scene), but he finally met his match in Nancy Thompson, his most famous victim.
Though Craven originally conceived of Freddy as a more serious psychopath, the character's humor came to define him in his later iteration, spouting off one-liners before taking his hapless teenage victims. The kills would take on elaborate and surreal methods.
In 2003, Freddy went toe-to-toe with another '80s horror icon, Jason Voorhees. They fought it out from Elm Street all the way to Camp Crystal Lake. The fight ended up too close to call, when Jason emerged from the water holding Freddy's head — which winked right before the credits rolled.
The remake didn't grab hold of audiences like Freddy previously did in the '80s, but it's never a good idea to count him out. He has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it.
Where do you think Freddy falls in the scope of horror-movie psychopaths? Let us know in the comments!

'Paranormal Activity 3': 10 Secrets Revealed
Directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman tease some things to look out for in the horror threequel.
By Eric Ditzian
"Paranormal Activity 3"
Photo: Paramount Pictures
Last October, on the day "Paranormal Activity 2" hit theaters, director Tod Williams stopped by the MTV Newsroom to reveal five secrets about the horror sequel -- everything from the best way to break a person's leg to why the baby in the film is possibly the greatest actor in all of Hollywood.
Another year, another "PA" flick -- and even more secrets revealed. The morning after a raucous screening in New York City, "Paranormal Activity 3" directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman paid us a visit and gave up the goods. Read on for 10 "Paranormal" secrets, then check back on Monday for their answers to a ton of our burning questions -- queries that were simply too spoiler-filled to reveal before fans have had a chance to see the film for themselves (be aware, though, that there are mild spoilers below).
The Fan Camera
A key issue in any found-footage movie is finding creative ways for characters to film the action. That issue becomes especially thorny three pictures into a franchise. How do you keep things fresh in a "Paranormal" flick, a series that largely confines each story to one house, the demon-haunting action captured with camcorders set up in various rooms? Joost and Schulman, along with screenwriter Christopher B. Landon, came up with a new technique that opens up an entirely new way of viewing events that is at once simple and totally scare-inducing: a camera mounted on the base of a swiveling fan.
The idea was one Joost and Schulman used when they first discussed the gig with Paramount. "It's like, 'How would we do it if there were a ghost in our office and we only had one camera? How would we capture the whole thing?' " explained Joost. "We were like, 'Would we put it on a model train and have it go around the house?' We would put up mirrors to see stuff, or this fan idea. It turned out Chris Landon, the writer of the movie, had basically the same idea, independently of us. So when we got together for this first time, it was like, 'Oh great, you want to do that too!' "
The Sex Tape
For "PA3," it wasn't just about new ways of capturing the action, but of new action to capture. That's why you'll see the making of the first-ever sex tape in the new "Paranormal," one between the two central adults in the film, mother Julie (Lauren Bittner) and live-in boyfriend Dennis (Christopher Nicholas Smith).
"The president of Paramount [Adam Goodman] was like, 'I want to do a sex tape this time,' " Schulman said. "They always tease it in the 'Paranormal' movies, and at this point, everyone's inclined to think they're not going to do it. [Dennis] is going to ask her to film it and she's going to say no and they're going to turn the camera off, or she'll say yes and they'll turn it off right away. [Goodman] was like, 'I want to take it there.' It gets pretty uncomfortable. It's like a real sex tape, which is awkward."
The Filmmaker Cameos
Though they spent the great majority of their time behind the scenes, Joost and Schulman actually make cameos in the film -- though you'd never be able to tell unless they hadn't revealed the secret to us. Without diving too much into spoilers, let's just say that at one point you see what might be a young girl or a demon hiding under a white sheet -- that old clichéd Halloween costume. In actuality, it was neither a demon nor a young girl, but Schulman. Why'd he choose that role for himself? "Catlike reflexes," he cracked. "Very agile."
Joost's cameo is similarly mysterious, though at least part of his body is visible -- even if you can't tell it's his. "I operated [the camera] for a bunch of awesome shots," he said, adding that in one climactic scene that we won't spoil, "My hand is in the film. I just slammed the stuntwoman with the camera. It was fun. She was like, 'Hit me as hard as you can!' I was like, 'I don't want to hurt you!' "
The First Scare
Now, we're not going to ruin the first big scare moment for you (what'd be the fun in that?), but Joost and Schulman did explain their thinking about that all-important initial jump-out-of-your-seat moment and why it occurs exactly when it does.
"We have to get a lot of exposition across first, because once the scare happens, the rollercoaster ride really sets in and it's hard to move the plot forward," Schulman said. "So we need time to establish the characters and what the heck is going on."
Added Joost: "I think there is also a moment in the movie where it wins you over. Prior to that, everyone's sitting there with their arms crossed and they're like, 'OK, let's see if this is any good.' And you need a moment like that, early in a movie, just to let all the tension out of the room and let people relax and settle in."
The Teddy Ruxpin
Set in the fall of 1988, "PA3" incorporates all sorts of pop-culture references from that era, the most prominent of which is Teddy Ruxpin, the talking bear that was a favorite toy of so many kids back in the day. Again, we won't tell you exactly how Ruxpin fits into the story, only that the filmmakers had some other ideas for the toy that they couldn't quite pull off.
"Teddy Ruxpin was on our original list of ideas," Schulman said. "We had a bunch of crazy ideas for Teddy Ruxpin but had legal issues. He plays audio cassettes and you can put other ones in there, like a Metallica tape, and just have him rage, which is really creepy. You can also set him to record, so we wanted him to record the demon at night if the camera turned off. Lot of legal issues with Teddy Ruxpin!"
The Pop Culture References
Keep your eyes and ears peeled throughout (if you can), because the film is littered with other '80s callbacks. There's a reference to "Back to the Future" at one point, but as Schulman let us know, "You can't say 'Back to the Future,' so instead [Dennis and his friend are] just having an argument about what it should have been called. 'Back to the Present.' 'Back to the Past.' "
"Dennis also wears one of my old Swatches from 1984," he added. "There's a Lite Brite in the kids' room. And one of the kids calls out [former NBA dunk-contest champion] Spud Webb. Kids love Spud Webb because he's small."
The Famous Katie Photo
It's no spoiler to say "PA3" takes place before the events of the first two films, following two sisters Katie and Julie from adulthood back into childhood. In both of the original films, there's one important photo of Katie as a child displayed at certain times. In "PA3," we see the moment that photo was taken.
"We were thinking about the hard-core fans on every decision. So we thought, 'What's the coolest way to bring back that famous photo?' " Schulman said. "Well, how about the taking of the photo?
"There are a lot of [references to the earlier films] you'll pick up on the second viewing," Joost added. "Why that scene is there, lines of dialogue, things like that."
The Timeline
The film takes place in September 1988, with certain dates highlighted graphically. One highlighted date is 9/10/88, but then the events skip ahead past 9/11, a storytelling decision that was very important to the filmmakers. "Out of respect," Joost said. "Never gonna do that."
The Demon's Name
The demon that has been haunting Katie and Julie finally gets a name in "PA3": He is Toby, Julie's supposedly imaginary friend. So why that name?
"Toby is the name of our [assistant director's] dog," Joost said.
"No, the writer's neighbor's dog," Schulman corrected.
"And our A.D.'s dog," Joost laughed.
The Loose Tooth
Early on in the film, young Julie shows off a gruesomely loose tooth -- a simple, creepy scene that hints at the violence to come. So was this some fancy special effect? Hardly. More like the luck of having a young actress on set.
"Little girl shows up on set and says that she's got a loose tooth," Schulman said. "We say, 'Film it, work it into the scene.' Can't fake that."
Check out everything we've got on "Paranormal Activity 3."

Michael Jackson Overdose Re-Enacted In Court Video
Prosecution aimed to prove MJ's death could have been prevented if Dr. Conrad Murray had the proper equipment and staffing.
By Gil Kaufman
Steven Shafer
Photo: Pool/Getty Images
After five days of recess, the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray resumed in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday (October 19) with the airing of a dramatic video showing an actor going into cardiac arrest and being revived following a propofol overdose.
The Witness
» Dr. Steven Shafer, anesthesiologist
Key Testimony
» After the trial was recessed for two days to allow Shafer to attend a conference -- which he did not make it to in light of his father's death -- the anesthesiologist, who emphasized the fact that his pro bono consultation on the case is motivated by his desire to restore faith in the public that propofol is not fatal when administered and monitored properly, completed his testimony from last week. Shafer, an expert on the surgical anesthetic propofol, narrated a video in which jurors watched an actor pretending to go into cardiac arrest while being administered propofol. The Los Angeles coroner's office determined that Jackson died of "acute propofol intoxication," which caused the singer to go into cardiac arrest.
» In the video, doctors and nurses successfully revive the patient using equipment and staffing that Murray did not have in Jackson's home. The dramatic re-enactment capped a case from the prosecution aimed at proving that Murray acted in a negligent, unprofessional manner in his treatment of Jackson.
» Murray lawyer Ed Chernoff argued vehemently against showing the video, calling it "a terrifying dramatization of a person experiencing cardiac arrest" that he said was intended to inflame the jurors' minds. Prosecutors countered that it was aimed at educating jurors about the safe way to administer propofol. A judge allowed the video but ordered Deputy District Attorney David Walgren to re-edit the video mid-morning to delete several scenes that he said were not relevant to the case.
» Over the course of the afternoon, the prosecution walked Shafer through his analysis of 17 major infractions -- what Shafer termed "egregious violations" -- in Murray's treatment of Jackson. Four of those violations were deemed "fundamentally unconscionable," such as Murray's failure to purchase and implement the proper medical monitoring devices and his failure to chart and document his treatment of Jackson, or keep any records. "It's a setup for disaster," Shafer said, adding that the violations were all contributing factors in Jackson's death.
Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter, is facing four years in prison if convicted. But new sentencing laws in California meant to mandatorily reduce state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.

In a new civil lawsuit filed in the state of Georgia, 10 members of New Birth claim they were "coerced" into investing with Ephren Taylor Jr., the former chief executive of City Capital Corp. in Chicago. The members say they were "...promised 20 percent annual returns on safe investments," but instead, their money was diverted to a failing company."

John Mayer Undergoes Throat Surgery
A little over a month after announcing his unfortunate condition, John Mayer has underwent surgery to treat a granuloma that formed near his vocal chords.
Hoping to correct the issue that failed to heal on its own, the "Gravity" singer went through with the procedure on Thursday afternoon (October 20).
Updating fans on his throat post-operation, John took to his Tumblr account, writing, "I had surgery this afternoon to remove it and am now on complete vocal rest for a month or more. It's been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery, but even given two weeks' voice rest (along with many other approaches), there was no change for the better."
Mayer added, "I should be frustrated but I can't seem to stop thinking about beautiful things?I never thought I'd be wishing I could do what I love again; I stay in at night, picking guitar parts off of records and dreaming of playing on the big stage. The only difference between now and when I was 18 is that now I have this beautiful, meaningful record waiting for me when I can sing it. Until then, I'm taking off. Going to travel the country, look and listen."

Justin Bieber's Next Album Inspired By Justin Timberlake
'I'm trying to create a new sound,' Bieber tells MTV News about follow-up to My World 2.0, due 'early next year.'
By James Montgomery
It seems sort of odd to talk about Justin Bieber's next album, given that his new album — the holiday-riffic Under the Mistletoe — doesn't hit stores until November 1.
But, when MTV News caught up with Bieber this past weekend in Santiago, Chile — where he was wrapping up his two-year My World Tour in record-setting fashion — he was more than ready to start discussing the follow-up to his massive My World 2.0 album, mostly because he's been hard at work on it for a while now, and the finish line is definitely in sight.
"What's happening is: get off this tour, and then my [holiday] album's coming out, so I have to go back out and promote that album ... and then after that ... it's almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again," Bieber told us. "We've already started [working on it], but we're going to be going in every day and working with new people and trying to find the best sound, because I'm going to be recording different styles, different things until I find a solid 15 songs that I love. ... I'm going to be recording as many songs as I possibly can."
True Beliebers Send Special Messages To Justin >>>
As for the release date for the new album, Bieber doesn't know specifics just yet, but he promised it'll be out "soon ... early next year." For fans seeking a sneak peek at the next step in his musical evolution, they've only got to check out his recent remix of Drake's "Trust Issues."
"I loved the song; I thought it was a dope song. I actually cover it in my concert," he said. "I'm going to mature; I'm going to evolve. I don't feel like I'm going to do it too fast or too slow: I'm going to do it at the pace that I feel comfortable doing it."
Of course, that's just one direction he's hoping to head in. Because, first and foremost, Bieber said that on his next album, he's looking to create something entirely new, while still maintaining a connection to his past.
"I'm trying to create a new sound that people aren't really used to hearing, so it might sound weird at first, but it's going to be like when Justin Timberlake did FutureSex/LoveSounds: It was a new sound ... acoustic guitar over hard drums," he explained. "I want to find something that's going to suit me and my fans are going to love and older people will like and younger people will like. But I'm always trying to keep my core fanbase, because the young people are what make everything cool. Old people look to young people, so trying to keep everyone happy."

As news spread that 27-year-old Amy Winehouse was dead, stars immediately tweeted their shocked reactions and remorse over the lost talent.
Katy Perry, who touches down in Boise, Idaho, this weekend as part of her California Dreams Tour, tweeted her condolences, writing, "RIP Amy Winehouse. May she finally find peace."
Nicki Minaj, who is also on the road as part of Britney Spears' Femme Fatale jaunt, took to Twitter and expressed disbelief at the news of Winehouse's passing. "Please tell me Amy Winehouse didn't die," wrote the Young Money MC, who's set to hit the stage in Florida on Saturday (July 23). "Is this some sick joke?"
"I am genuinely heartbroken about this," wrote Rihanna, who continued to express her shock over multiple tweets. "Dear God have mercy!!! I am SICK about this right now!" In another, she wrote "U made a MAJAH impression on this industry and throughout the world, in such a short space of time...too short!"
Usher reflected on Winehouse, who he had known: "I'm so sad to hear the horrible news of Amy Winehouse's death. I'm so happy I knew you Amy...Rest Well. Gone Too Soon...we'll miss you!!""
Frequent tweeter Kim Kardashian used her 140 characters to send prayers: "I just heard the news that Amy Winehouse passed away. What a true talent. I pray she's in a better place & at peace."

Mary J. Blige Dishes On Her 'Crazy' Led Zeppelin Covers
'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Larry Carroll
You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.
In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.
But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.
"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."
Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.
"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

Jennifer Garner Gears Up For the Weekend in Bump-Baring Outfits
Jennifer Garner was casual for a shopping trip in Pacific Palisades yesterday afternoon. Later in the day she headed to a meeting in Santa Monica in a black and red ensemble, which was just the latest in a string of stylish maternity looks this week.
Jennifer wore a sequin top and heels for a work appointment, boots and a blazer to meet with a friend, and a comfortable striped sweater for a Starbucks run with Seraphina.
Jennifer may often be on the go solo during the week, but she's been spending her weekends with family. Jennifer, Ben Affleck, Violet, and Seraphina visited a farmers market and stopped by The Grove last Saturday, though we'll have to see what the Garner-Afflecks have in store for their latest two days off.

Beyonce's Team Shoots Down Fake Baby-Bump Rumors
Publicist calls rumors 'stupid, ridiculous and false.'

Beyoncé has had to deal with dozens of scurrilous, absurd and outlandish rumors over the course of her career. And like most stars, she has ignored the majority of them, responded to some and mostly just let the talkers talk. But after the Internet blew up earlier this week with rumors that the pregnant singer was sporting what some were calling a "fake" baby bump during a recent TV appearance, enough was enough.
Beyoncé's publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told ABC News on Tuesday that the allegations are "stupid, ridiculous and false." The rumors were sparked by an appearance Beyoncé made on Australia's "Sunday Night HD" in which her midsection seemed to deflate and fold over in an odd manner when she sat down for an interview while wearing a loose-fitting red dress.
It was during that appearance that Beyoncé — who revealed her pregnancy — at the 2011 VMAs confirmed that the child she is expecting with hubby Jay-Z is due in February. "I just feel like it's time and I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift any human can have," B said during the interview. "If there's any time, right now is the time, and I'm so happy."
Before the bump-troversy erupted, Beyoncé told Harper's Bazaar that she doesn't get worked up over gossip. "I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people's opinions about my life decisions," she said. "It is really liberating to know what I want, to know what truly makes me happy."
And while the super-couple have always kept their private life off limits, the "Countdown" singer did reveal a bit about her relationship with Jigga in the November issue of the magazine.
"We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married. ... But like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice," she said. "It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want. The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your insecurities. There's someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you."
