If you haven't heard much about "Drive Angry," don't worry — that's going to change very soon. Starring Nicolas Cage and directed by Patrick Lussier, "Drive Angry" is a revenge thriller shot in Louisiana about a father (Cage) seeking vengeance against the men who killed his daughter. Cage previously told MTV News that the tone of "Drive Angry" is akin to "an old '70s action movie," but with a twist — it's being shot from the ground up entirely with 3-D cameras.
"For the purist in you appealing to the purist in me, we shot that in 3-D in the camera, absolutely," Cage told MTV's Josh Horowitz at a recent press junket promoting "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." But Cage's enthusiasm over the use of 3-D cameras in "Drive Angry" shouldn't be seen as a knock against the conversion process, as the actor revealed he's not bothered by retroactive 3-D in films like "Clash of the Titans."
"I'm not one of those people who knocks the conversion process," said Cage. "I like 'Clash of the Titans.' I thought it looked good. Maybe I saw it on a certain screen, HD or whatever it was, but I thought it looked really good."
Fans can judge for themselves whether they prefer converted 3-D ala "Clash" to the ground-up approach seen in "Drive Angry" when Cage and his colleagues premiere footage from the revenge thriller at Comic-Con later this month.
"I'm very excited about that movie," said Cage. "I loved working with Patrick Lussier and [co-star] Amber Heard. They're really talented people."
