The Uninformed Perspective: What's 'Inception' All About?
"Inception" is out today and I have absolutely no idea what it's about. Well, that's not entirely true. I know who directed it. I know who's starring in it. I know that "your mind is the scene of the crime." I know it's supposed to be awesome. But I haven't seen a single trailer. I haven't [...]

Inception"Inception" is out today and I have absolutely no idea what it's about. Well, that's not entirely true. I know who directed it. I know who's starring in it. I know that "your mind is the scene of the crime." I know it's supposed to be awesome.

But I haven't seen a single trailer. I haven't read a single synopsis. I have purposely kept myself in the dark about "Inception" as much as possible because as a fan of Christopher Nolan's work, I'm pretty confident that I'll enjoy the movie no matter what — or, at the very least, I'll pay to see it, plot be damned.

None of that's to say that I haven't thought about what "Inception" could be about. After the jump, check out some "Inception" predictions from a guy who has no idea what he's in store for!

The Matrix Re-Reloaded
When the idea of the dream-bending, action-packed "Inception" was first floated past the mainstream populace, comparisons to "The Matrix" were immediately drawn. But let's face it, not everyone was a fan of the second two "Matrix" films, and the franchise could sure use a makeover. Who better to reboot the series than reboot master Christopher Nolan himself? Clearly not an actual overhaul of "The Matrix," perhaps "Inception" is its spiritual successor, and Leonardo DiCaprio is the new One.

Shutter Island 2
Well, spoiler alert in case you never saw "Shutter Island," but it's firmly established by the end of the movie that DiCaprio's character is a total wackjob on his way towards a swift career-ending lobotomy. Who's to say that "Inception" isn't just the aftermath of that lobotomy? Something tells me I'm wrong, but I still won't be surprised if Ben Kingsley appears in a lighthouse to explain everything in a very clear-cut manner once "Inception" is over.

Sleeping Beauty
Or some other such Disney-inspired tale, as DiCaprio and his royal army of dream warriors are sent through the slumbering minds of fair maidens everywhere looking for the perfect princess to bring back to his castle. Somehow he winds up in Rose DeWitt Bukater's dreams and the "Titanic" pair manage to live happily ever after — until they move to "Revolutionary Road," that is.

The Dark Knight Remixed
Seriously, this is just a sequel to "The Dark Knight," right? Nolan's managed to fool us all and deliver a return trip to Gotham City much sooner than expected. The film's villain is one part Riddler and one part Mad Hatter, their forces combined to make Bruce Wayne imagine himself as an older, wiser, more refined Luke Brower from "Growing Pains."

Who The Heck Knows
Frankly, I can't take a real guess about what "Inception" is about. That's how little I know about the movie, and I can't explain to you how exciting that is as a moviegoer. It's so rare in this day and age of being one click away from the biggest scoop to actually go into a big blockbuster without any knowledge of what's about to transpire. That's exactly what I'm walking into in a few minutes. I'll let you know how it goes.
