Great news Golden Girls fans! A new 25th anniversary DVD box set is being released this Fall that will collect all 7 seasons of the show in one awesomely packaged collection! The Golden Girls – 25th Anniversary Complete Collection will be available in early November (just in time for Xmas shopping) and it will look like this:
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and ABC are putting their brains together to release the ultimate Golden Girls package, The Golden Girls – 25th Anniversary Complete Collection, on DVD come November 9, 2010. The Complete Series set will encompass all 180 episodes of The Golden Girls saga, spanning all seven seasons of the show about a group of old ladies who are friends to the end. The 3800-minute collection – yes, that’s an amazing amount of minutes featuring Betty White – will run you $149.99 at the suggested retail price. Let’s be honest here, who would rather have a vast Golden Girls collection over groceries for the month? You can’t see it, but every hand in our office is in the air. The best part about this release? It’s going to be packaged in a replica of Sophie’s purse.

The show is called The Golden Guys and it is being produced by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Gallactica writer Jane Espeson (who, you may recall, wrote one of the BtVS Season 8 comic books which reintroduces Riley Finn into the Buffyverse) and stars (among others) Buffy/Angel alum Tom Lenk:
